First of all I am really thankful to you. I recently came to Canada and I am looking for a job. While looking up for an opensource tool for mindmapping I came across your tool. The tool is great. It just lacks some features like the ability to select the boxes and the connectors. Could you please let me know how, if it exists already.

Hi,

I'm using your Mind Map Maker and I like it. There are a few points I want to mention:

When I login the Inspector appears (always) in the upper right corner (no problem). When I want to change the Border Color of Background, the color window appears above the color box and than it is only partly visible (see screenshot). Moving the Inspector is only helpful for the current session. Is there something I can do to improve?

When I change the font color is very difficult to get it back to black (not present in the color selection). Can you add black?

When exporting is mind map as image the mind map is fully exploded. Is it possible to add an option like "current view"?

Printing to PDF result in a blank page. Is there something I can do to improve?

I'm using Google Chrome and delete all cookies when I close Chrome, but your site is in the exception list .

I hope you can help me and that my remarks can help to improve your great Mind Map Maker.

Before "auto-layout" is done, I'd like to be able to have some invisible guidelines, so as to be able to align the elements.

My idea about them is that the center-most lower corner would be the 0,0 of x,y axis, against which the center-most lower corner of any other node would snap (around ~ +-20,+-20 pixels)

Optionally, the imaginary background grid could become snap-able on some modifier-down (e.g. Shift)

My idea of a mind map is: hash out X ideas in succession, then "beautifully" present them.

I would like if there was an action to auto-format the mindmap (a selection / node subset) to "the mindmap layout", without any node overlaying another, and with no fuss.

For "extra points", it could be a global toggleable (always-on, always-off), with the further option to ignore per-node (and allow further nodes to inherit global, inherit parent, on, off)

First off, I love this application.

I think it would be very beneficial to add an option to be able to move a Parent bubble and leave its Children in their current position.

Being able to move a Parent with all its dependencies is excellent, but sometimes having the option to only move the Parent is also great for rearranging layout without messing the whole complex mind map. Some of us are a little cuckoo (me) and a lot is going on in our minds. When we have to add and suddenly there isn't much space due to some Parent having too much space and moving that Parent just a little could ease to progress without having to move everything.

Just my two cents.

The only thing is whenever I save the mind map when its stored on the mindmapmaker.org server, it seems to update the URL rather than keep it the same! It makes it difficult to share and edit... is this URL updating what you had in mind, or is this a bug?

Hi there, I am enjoying your app for studying.

However, I have recently been recommended a different mindmap app, MindView, by my university, and wanted to export my mindmap into their program. I was unable to do so.

I tried online .json to .xml convertors to see if this would work however it did not. Is there a way to export the mindmap in .xml format?

These are the import options in MindView, I hope this helps.

I want to share a mindmap via Google Drive Sync. It looks like Mind Map Maker will only save to the root drive of Google Drive. I've set up a team drive for IT so I don't have to save it to my personal drive. That way, if I leave the school, I don't have to transfer bunch of files to a new person. Please add the ability to save to Google Drive Team Drives.

Add Text Wrap Property

Hello,

I am still using this awesome tool!! One thing I think would be excellent is if you can set a line wrap width property for one or multiple nodes. This way, you wouldn't have to worry about manually hitting Shift+Enter when you're writing slightly longer node text, because the node would automatically move you to the next line after the set pixel amount.

This would make the functionality of the nodes themselves similar to the tables that can be added within the attachment function. I really love these tables because they automatically wrap and adjust depending on the text that is in each cell.

I am a new user of Mindmap maker. I am a Sociology PhD student and mindmap helps me to locate the literature and identify future studies.

I appreciate a lot the webaapp you developed. It's a great assistance to my work. However, I would really like to know if there is any way I could add a new "parent" for a child without cutting and pasting anything.

Please see my mindmap inserted above as an example. I would like to know how to add one more item between the "cultural competence" and "children/ youth" without cut and past the "children/ youth" and everything under it.

Hello!

One feature that would make this software even more incredible would be the ability to search your mindmap (including attachment text) for any string. This would allow users to easily reference any data even in a very large mindmap, and this would also make this software competitive with sites like Trello.

Regarding how the search should function: I think the search tools that treat each word (with space as a delimiter) as a separate string are the most helpful. For example, if I searched "raining cats and dogs," then the search would return any bubbles that contain "raining" OR "cats" OR "and" OR "dogs" - instead of insisting that all matches must have the exact same word order.

I really enjoy this tool and I've found the forum to be very helpful as well. As a feature request, I thought I might suggest the following:

1. It would be really neat to be able to have multiple central ideas, especially for larger maps. Right now I am planning a writing project and I think that the ability to have multiple maps side-by-side (but not necessarily having the same central idea) would make the overall map appear cleaner and also give more flexibility in creation

2. It would also be really cool to be able to select multiple nodes or thought bubbles and add the same formatting changes (for example, give them a red border instead of a blue border). Currently, they have to be selected one by one to apply these changes.

After studying mind maps and its effectiveness, I could see that vivid colors is desireable because it helps to fix the content and make links between the content and the color chosen. Think about it. I find it a very nice app, but unfortunatelly, I think it could be better with these colors. Thanks!

I've been using the mapping tool you've got. I've tried a few web-based mind mapping tools but I like yours the best so far. One of the key features I'm using is attaching images. I use a lot of images (graphs, charts, etc) because I'd like to use this as sort of a presentation tool. Most of the other apps don't offer much flexibility in terms of attaching images.

I think I've figured out most of the features of your's but I still have a few questions for things I can't figure out so I was hoping you could help.

1) How to control the order of the layering of images. For example, I have several nodes at the same level and each has a child node with an image. I want the second one I open to appear on top of the first one. Is there any way to control this?

2) Focus control. I was wondering if there is a way to automatically bring an image or a node into the middle of the screen when it's selected. Some others (like MindVectorweb.com) employ this feature and I find it really helpful. It prevents me from having to keep moving the nodes and images so they can be easily viewed.

3) See below. When I have my Chrome zoom set to 90% or 100%, part of the border color pop-up in the Inspector window is blocked by the top of the window area and is not accessible. And, I can't move the Inspector window past the bottom of the page. Hopefully, you see what I mean.

Hello, Azeem, I hope everything is going all right. I have been looking for mind mapping software and ended up finding the Chrome extension for MMM. It looks nice, and even better, it's OSS. But people seemed to complain about bugs and whatnot, so I did some research and I found that you continued Richard's work, which is under AGPLv3 (i.e. Affero).

In short, you *have* to make the source code available if it has been modified and the product is used over a network. You are bound by license terms to do that.

I'm not a lawyer. I know that you're doing your best to make this work, made the forum, answer many questions, etc. I know. I also found an answer in the forum where you said that "you were working to publish your modifications". You should make it happen as a first priority.

I can give you a hand with the Github account if that's what you want. I'm a Debian developer since 2001 and I've had my fair share of revision control systems, licensing, and many others. If you've been maintaining a private repo with your modifications, I can help you merge it into a fork from drichards GH account.

I can help you to make that happen, but please stay in touch and *publish your code*. As a side effect, you will be surprised to see how many people contribute bugs and enhancements.

I would like to be able to insert a node between two nodes. As far as I can tell, the only way to do this is to delete the entire tree from the point where I would like to insert a node, then add a child, and then paste the whole tree under that node. This is a cumbersome way to do that operation.

I understand that others have asked this, and that you thought about it during development, but I think the application is lacking without this feature. Yes, we can add a higher level of main idea to connect everything, but sometimes that is just extra work and it would be more effiecient to add a new main idea.

First of all thank you for Mind Map Maker, which to date is my favorite program for mind mapping, and the closest option to paper mind mapping.
I have a question: it doesn’t seem possible to collapse and expand all the branches of a specific node. Am I wrong, or I simply haven’t figured it out? This is something that is possible to do with MindMup, which I find really really useful. Please, let me know if I haven’t figured it out, or if it’s not an option. In the latter case, maybe it could be something to implement in the future, if viable.

Thanks a lot of this great application. Its very much usefull.

But While desinging mindmap i got one requriment and its missing in current application version.

The requiremnt is to have multiple say 2 or 4 branch draging point. So, that user can create a mindmap which will look more attractive. As of now user can create a mindmap by drawing several branches from one single point. But there will be option to have multiple startung pont then it will help more in drqwing hieracrical structure mindmaps.
